Weaving Wonders!

Learning new skills today at Marylebone School, London with Hannah Cole.  You can weave with anything really.  Anything that you can bend and thread around the warp with the weft.  Going to try weaving outdoors with younger students on the Downlands wtih woodland materials.  This should be fun!

Alison surprised Katie and Tom with her wonderful handmade quilts.  These will be with them for their whole lives.  Each has a wonderful dedication on the back.   Katies is full of personalised visual references.  Amazing effort has gone into these quilts.

Last few summer mornings

Last few summer mornings.  The dew has started to appear and the grass is now wet to walk on early in the morning.  We have had such a good summer and I am really pleased to have stayed at home this summer holiday.  Eating breakfast on the patio each day has been like being in a villa abroad. All the apples have started to drop now and it is hard to keep on top of picking them all up before the insects and the birds get to them.  Good news is that there have been so many birds and butterflies during July and August.  Blackbirds have been walking into the kitchen.  Two pairs of robins visit most days.  A chaffinch and a yellow hammer have been spotted this month. What a privelage to see these darling birds.
